Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh has given instructions to ensure facility of drinking-water and clean toilets for common people in all government offices of state. As per instructions of Chief Minister, Chief Secretary Mr. Vivek Dhand has issued circular from Mantralaya to President of Revenue Board, all the Departments, Head of Departments, Divisional Commissioners, District Collectors and CEOs of District Panchayats.

Chief Secretary has stated in the circular that generally each government office has the facility of drinking water for employees and visitors to the office. But it has been often seen that due to the lack of proper maintenance, supply of safe drinking water gets affected. In offices like Collectorate, Tehsil Offices, Janpad and Jila Panchayat Offices, Hospitals etc, have large number of visitors every day. Hence, it is extremely important to maintain uninterrupted safe drinking water supply in such offices. Owing to which, it has been instructed that proper attention should be given to ensure continuous supply of safe drinking water in government offices. In case, the existing facilities are not sufficient, additional arrangements for safe drinking-water supply can be made.

As per the circular, maintaining clean toilets are important component of Clean India Campaign. Nearly all the offices have this facility, but it has been observed that these toilets are often not in condition to be used by the office staff or common people. Hence, Office In-charges should personally inspect these toilets and ensure that cleanliness is maintained. It is also stated in the circular that In-charge Secretary, Divisional Commissioner, District Collector, CEO Jila Panchayat and other senior officials should time-to-time inspect the facilities of safe drinking water and clean toilets in offices, schools, aanganbadis etc during their official tours to different places.
